I am a scholar and advocate for youth impacted by the criminal justice system.

I help schools and communities end the school to prison pipeline through innovative interventions. I change how schools, police, and courts discipline youth.

I am strongly committed to studying juvenile justice through a cultural and sociopolitical perspective. Most importantly I am committed to social justice and educational equity.

To understand the critical narratives of African American males I had to understand my own narrative and scholarly identity and its role in shaping my research.

Our community needs to be aware of the challenges that our children encounter daily. I seek to provide awareness & build capacity in communities to ensure an equitable education for all students.
